Lovebook

Hey everybody

I want to talk about the last book that I read. It is called “Lovebook” from Simona Sparaco. It has a subtitle: Love in Facebook’s times. The title is a mixed between love and facebook, and this explain what the book is about. It was original written in Italian on 2009. But I have it, obviously, in Spanish. On the odd number’s chapters, the narrator is Solidea. On the even number’s chapters, the narrator is Edoardo. They tell what is happening to them, separately.

There are two main characters: Solidea and Edoardo. There are 6 years of difference between them. Solidea, when was an 8 years-old girl, felt in love of Edoardo. But Edoardo have to left school, and they lost contact.

The story starts with Solidea with 23 years-old. She just broke up with her boyfriend, because he cheated on her. She works in a bookshop. She isn’t familiar with Internet and the social networks, but her sister and her cousin, the two of them little than Solidea, make her facebook. And talking about the people of the high school, Solidea remembers Edoardo.

Edoardo is now a 29 years-old executive. He lives alone on his apartment. He has a girlfriend, Claudia. They have been together for more than a year, and Claudia starts to thinking in marriage and kids, a thing that Edoardo is not ready, so they have a lot of arguments. He has facebook, but he barely us it. But a childhood friend, Andrea, make him use more facebook, and he make Edoardo remember Solidea, the charming girl who always talked with him.

And then, they add as friends. It starts a romance history.

On my opinion, I liked a lot this book and I recommend it. It is a new point of view of love, a new way to meet again of two persons who had something on the past that now it could be something more. And this book explains a fake history, but I think this have happen to a lot of people, and it will happen a lot more. Life is full of causalities and social networks can make us changed our love life, don’t you think?
